- in the name of Allah -

Been a short while since my last posting, seems like forever as usual. As one my expect, I approach crossroads almost daily, sometimes making deals (a la Supernatural) and sometimes failing. I can't help but rhyme even when its sense is waning...ahhh, all of this is rhyming lol. t_t

The following is a something collected from about a month ago, and finished up just now. I need thoughts and prayers from everyone, please! May Allah reward all who do so with better, ameen.

(untitled)
These are the times, these are the ways, when vanities fall and get caught in the shade.

Aftermath after the fact, divisible indeed by 0 though it tramples on math,

Past the numbers and nature’s laws, I’m stuck in the teeth of a timeless tiger’s jaws.

Evident, inescapable, inevitable: “fate”, a spidery thread, woven in waves interminable,

An excuse, at times, for mistakes and inadequacies, misunderstandings and overstated fallacies.

Having its wings have broken and caved, which road follows the moth in order to be saved?

After all, there are so many candles, so many flames, burning brightly, promises of burial in suede,

Almost as if in its ending, life would carry more options & choices than its beginning.

Surprised I’m not, but cynics typically aren’t, still holding ideals while their antithesis remains apparent.

Please then consider, how the world is all a-twitter, a-bound and abased in spite all its glitter,

Futures of minerals and mammals on markets exchanged, taking guarantees from tomorrow for today,

One rich man’s life becomes worth a million of poor, after collateral damage the total is just a bit more.

I wish I could blame all of this infamy on my birth, but without all those choices I made, I’d remain just a drop of semen falling to earth. From dust I was made, and to dust my bones return, where my end is I can only hope, just wishing the path there wasn’t so damned absurd.

/end

Nomad,

The last bit just got me, not sure if your rhyming was intentional but I think you capsulized something I think I have been thinking, but could not seem to find the words to say, that all of it, this whole existence in its moments of bliss, in its treachery, it is so damn absurd, and I am just taking a ride, trying to control most of it, but alas it controls me much of the time, a struggle between the soul within that is without binds and complexes and the ever practical/useless ego.

We live in strange times, I guess all time is strange and I am as I will always be, grateful to be part of this mess.

@Anony - Wa'iyyakum for the dua. I don't have an additional blog/website at the moment (I technically have one from days past, but I don't know if its published anymore by blogspot).

@Neb - You're right, the absurdity is especially pronounced when you try to be aware of it. It's amazing how little we have control over, yet we still have dreams that reach into the stars, or have depressions that fall into the darkest of oceans. I'm glad I can appreciate these things, though not quite happy for being ignorant of exactly what future roads my choices lead me towards.

(mini update) - I've gone ahead and published that old blog of mine, from days past. It's embarrassing at times, but it is the bare truth of back then.

Useful insight is, as usual, forever welcome.

@Anony - Wa iyyakum! As for new posts on there, I doubt there will be anything new on the other blog. One might hope not, as the main stimulus for those kinds of posts tend to be tragedies lol. It's just a snapshot of some of my past I would like to put in a picture frame, not really revisit.

Salamz. Well, I meant new posts in the this blog.:) and sorry if I reminded you of those tragedies!lol

It's clear, from your posts, that you read alot. Because, an ordinary person or reader wont be able to put his/her experiences in the format that you do.mashaAllah is the word.
I would like to know, if you dont mind, the types of books you read.

best of luck,

Ah, well yes, I do plan on keeping this blog updated; iA, more frequently than I have in years past. No worries about tragedies any longer, life just keeps going forward so I must follow :]

I wish I had read more than I have. I found a lot of resonance with Dostoevsky's books, and a bit of inspiration in Robin Hobb. I can't recall too many other names lol.

Insight, as usual, is always welcome.
